Infusion Therapy

Infusion Therapy

Infusion Therapy

This is one of the fastest growing areas within private health and it offers an alternative treatment path to standard medications.

Infusion therapy can be indicated for the management of chronic illnesses where it may be impractical, and sometimes impossible, to take medications orally. This is when infusion therapy – medication administered intravenously – can be life enhancing.

Infusion therapy can also be used to address general wellness issues where patients may feel a “bit flat” from time to time such as those with “Seasonal Affective Disorder” which may lower their mood during the winter months.

Some of the therapies we offer are targeted to improve certain medical conditions, such as dehydration, gastrointestinal diseases, autoimmune disorders.

We are committed to exceptional patient centred care at a time that suits you. We offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments for your convenience.

You will have a detailed consultation with one of our practitioners who will review your medical history and discuss your current concerns with you, and if appropriate we may recommend one of our infusion treatments.

The Infusion process is relatively painless, and our trained staff will do all they can to minimize any discomfort. Your treatment will be administered in our clinic under the supervision of a practitioner, as with any drug there is always a chance you may experience side effects from the medications. These potential risks and side effects will be fully explained to you prior to treatment.

If you think Infusion therapy may be of benefit to you please contact the clinic or to find out more about these services or download the patient information leaflet by clicking the link.

IV therapy is a method to quickly administer fluids, vitamins, and minerals directly into the bloodstream. By going directly into the bloodstream, your body can absorb almost 100% of the vitamins; taken orally vitamins experience about 20% hydration due to the digestive tract. Our services are meant to act as supplements and not to replace oral hydration.

All of the infusions we use are supplied by Intra Vita International who are a UK registered Pharmacy and MHRA approved medicines wholesaler, and these products have gone through high levels of testing. All IVs are administered by a suitably qualified staff and the procedure is performed in a clinic setting, in line with approved protocols. Before a patient receives IV therapy, their medical history is reviewed with a practitioner at a consultation to assess their suitability for any of our infusion treatments.

Side effects from an IV drip are generally very mild if any occur at all. On occasion, you may experience some discomfort, bruising, itching, inflammation, or redness at or around the site of injection, and this could last from a few minutes to several days. However, true allergic reactions are extremely rare.

There are a range of infusions available, that have been developed to address specific concerns or symptoms. These cover areas from general “wellbeing” and being fir for life, to treatments that focus on specific medical conditions and their management, such as:

  • Anti-aging
  • Allergies/asthma
  • Athletic performance
  • Chronic Fatigue and Brain Fog
  • Detoxification (Body Detox)
  • Improvement in Energy Levels
  • Nutrient and Vitamin Deficiencies
  • Headaches and Migraine
  • Improved immunity
  • Easing Anxiety and promoting relaxation.
  • Weight Management

This list is not exhaustive and if you have a specific concern and you believe that infusion therapy may help please contact us.

The Infusion procedure itself will take 30-60 minutes to complete depending on the products being infused. If it is your first visit to the clinic you will need to have a full consultation with your practitioner which will include a review of you medical history and a discussion of the symptoms you are looking to have treated.

At each appointment you will need to complete the necessary consent forms prior to your infusion as well as a quick review of any changes to your medical status and any issue you may have had with any prior treatments.

The procedure is relatively painless, you should only feel a small scratch when inserting the needle. You practitioner is experienced in these procedures and will talk you through it and answer any questions you may have.

The frequency of IV therapy is determined on a patient-by-patient basis. We take a customised approach to suit your individual needs. For preventative health and wellness, we recommend at least one treatment per month to help balance out any vitamin deficiencies.
